Default Raxles vs. DSS vs. Insane Shafts

I need some good axles for my CRX. I've had 3 cheap sets now, and all of them shake badly during acceleration. I almost ruled out the axles as being the cause, but the more I read the more I am convinced that these cheap Rockauto axles are junk. I need to replace them ASAP, just wondering what the best option is.

Raxles wants $600 for a pair which seems high. But it looks like they are the only company that uses dynamic dampers on the axles, and from reading other stories I am 100% positive these will get rid of my vibrations, so I am willing to pay for them if necessary. However I am not sure they will hold up for long at 400whp.

DSS level 0 appear to be high quality and only $315 for the pair, but there is no warranty against breakage, and not sure if these would help the shakes or not. Their 475hp axle option is more than double the price though.

Insane Shafts 500hp are $350 for a set. I've heard they are not great but they will replace them if they break without a hassle.

Any reviews on these or guidance before I pull the trigger?

OR option D.... Is there another brand of "cheaper" axles I can try that are less likely to vibrate than the Cardone ones? That way I could confirm that is the issue before I drop big money on a set of shafts.

DSS 2.9’s. Mine lasted 12 years before selling and getting DSS 5.9’s. The 2.9’s can handle the power and last.

Do they have a dynamic damper on them?

Okay. I'm just wiggin' out because reading about how all cheap aftermarket axles tend to vibrate, and it worsens if you have stiffer mounts, suspension, etc. all of which I have. But at the same time I'll be pretty upset if I spend $600-800 on axles and I still have a vibration.

I am thinking I might try just getting another brand of cheap ones first, to see if it changes the vibration at all. That will at least give me some confidence that the axles are indeed the issue before I spend a lot. And if it does then I will go with the 2.9's.

2x0, NAPA axles are the best quality of the "cheap auto parts axles" that are available. You could try a pair of those first and see how your vibration issue shakes out.

Thank you, this is exactly what I was trying to figure out yesterday, scouring all the parts stores websites trying to find anything different about the axles they offer.

Was going to pick up a set from O'Reilly's today but I'll give Napa a call and see what they can do for me.

I have tried napa axles and always had vibrations. I spent the money on some raxles and never looked back. I no longer have any vibration. I am only at 300whp with my current set up and have had no problems with the raxles.

When we talk about NAPA axles are we talkin new or remans? Which should I try?

For some reason their remans cost twice as much as new axles, probably due to the hassle and scarcity of cores. BUT, the remans should be reusing OEM axle shafts and other components that could mean the difference between a vibration and no vibration.

I had em order me some new shafts that will be here in 3-4 days, but they have remans in town that I could try out.

Alright well I have confirmed, my shaking did not change at all with these new axles. Being my 4th set, from 3 different manufacturers, all having the exact same issue, I am quite certain that the axles may not actually be my problem.

I messed around this morning and it's like, any time you punch the gas to create "shock" to the chassis/suspension, it starts to vibrate hard. I'm going to turn towards replacing suspension components and bushings next.
