Pic Request: B18b1 and b18a1 intermediate shaft
Hello,
Today it turns out that when I was taking my wheel off to go and replace some brake pads, I figured id give the CV axel some turns, and sure enough it was clicking... Further down near where the intermediate shaft is, the entire shaft cup would WIGGLE.... :S I knew this was not normal and would probably explain my vibrations when I would brake... (Already replaced rotors, pads at one point, wheel bearings, etc...), and the only thing left are the CV axles and the intermediate shaft.... It looks like the spines on both the intermediate and the CV axles might be bad... Just to be sure, I would appreciate if someone can take some high resolution pictures of both sides of an intermediate shaft, and also the CV joint that connects to the intermediate shaft.
odd request, but it would help me with figuring out the dillema as to why the thing was very loose.
Thanks!

B18A intermediate shaft has a female end where the axle goes in, B18B has a male end. Haven't got a pic of '94 - '01, but here's '90 - '93

K, thanks for the differences.
I was also needing some higher resolution pictures of the ends of the intermediate shaft for the b18b1. I just gotta see if my intermediate shaft's splines wore down.

Re: Pic Request: B18b1 and b18a1 intermediate shaft
I just uploaded some pictures of my intermediate shaft...
http://scatcat.fhsu.edu/~r_fernandez/shaft/
Each picture is about 3 megs, but enough detail to notice the splines.
Are they ok?

Just dont understand that once you put the CV shaft back in that it has a ton of wobble at the end with the female of the cv....
