Default Manual transmission gear ratios

Does anybody know which ratios for each gear are best for a d-series. I have a 1993 civic with a d15b vtec. I am looking to build a 1/4 mile tranny.

Need to know weight, power, tire size and type, and shift RPM.

I apologize for the super late response. I am probably around 2,200 now, also trashed the d15 I now have a y8, rev will be close to stock around 7,200, will be on 14's with street tires, and also close to stock hp. Will be a daily beater just looking for the wich stock tranny ratios will be best. I appreciate the help.

Just go with a Y8 transmission in that case.

I used to own one of these engines and one thing I always noticed with the gears was that in 3rd, the speedo and tach matched each other exactly when accelerating. Don’t know if that was a thing, I always thought it was a ratio thing.

It's a ratio thing. Happens with all Z6, Y8 and A6 transmissions in 3rd gear.

Y8 or z6 tranny. If you get really serious about it there's a few options, aftermarket final drive or much easier a pair of 20" slicks that will effectively change your gear ratios the same as well as give you much better traction over street tires.
