ok so here is my adventure so far. im helping out a friend that has a k20 type r trans. all we did was swap out the final drive to a 4.3 and install a tsx 6th gear set. so put the case on and the snap ring clicks on the bearings. so far so good. i spin the shaft and it spins just fine. now i put in a couple bolts and tighten them up and go to spin the shaft and its locked up. wtf. so i take the case off thinking somehow maybe it went into gear or something, look at everything, seems fine. go to spin the shaft and it spins. so im just like huh wierd. put the case on, spin the shaft, sweet still spins. put the gear selector on and everything again, go to spin the shaft, fml locked up. do it again without putting in gear selector or anything. case goes on it spins, tighted down the case, locked up. anyone ever run into this or have any direction?? please help if you can this is driving me nuts. diff, fd and gears are all oem acura, i just dont get it

Try installing only the assembled mainshaft and tighten a few bolts to see if spins freely. The new TSX 5th gear could have changed the M/S thrust clearance.

Fml spins freely with just the mainshaft, this is odd I had the case on n off before changing anything n it was fine

well took the tsx 6th gears off n put on the type r 6th gear and all is well. closes perfectly, just leaving it like that for awhile
