identifying lsd
hey guys, i have a few bad transmission's laying around and one i had on my car earlier this year, its got b16 1-4 gears, i'm sure integra ls 5th gear and lsd, i didn't do the modifications to the transmission, i was given it the way it is. i have a friend with a gsr (non lsd) wanting to purchase the transmission from me so he can rob the lsd out of it. are all b series lsd's the same? i notice on ebay b16 type r lsd's are going cheaper than the itr lsd's, are they different? if there is a difference how can i tell what it is? i presume its an oem type r lsd in it but i'm not sure. The reason i ask is i dont' want the tranny i have to be the b16 version and not work with his gsr transmission, if there is such differences.

Re: identifying lsd
Take an axle out, and look through, you see a pin, no lsd. you see straight through, lsd.

Re: identifying lsd
Did you even read the paragraph?

Re: identifying lsd
B16/LS has a smaller ring gear bolt pattern vs. the GSR/ITR

Re: identifying lsd
If it's the B16B LSD (Civic EK9 Type-R), then it is the exact same Torsen LSD as the ITR, no difference.
The normal Viscous B16 LSD's won't fit your GSR tranny though. |
Re: identifying lsd
ok thats good information to have, but i think what i really need is a way to identify the difference? how can you look at an lsd and tell for sure what kind it is? markings?
