Default Gear Lube Advice: Feeling-Like-A-Noob Fridays

I'm currently running a cusco lsd & 1-5th carbon sychros in my gearbox and have been looking for a friction modifier here for a while now. Finally found the Amsoil Slip Lock through my uncle who works at the Amsoil distributor here in Ja. I have only a few questions tho based on what he's telling me.

1. He's saying that I need to buy 3 qrts of Amsoil Severe Gear 75w90 plus the Amsoil Slip Lock. Is that necessary or is he just trying to increase on the sale? (Yes he's my uncle but he's still a sales man at heart lol)

2. Can I use the Amsoil Slip Lock with any other Gear Lube?

3. If I use any other Gear Lube does it have to be specific since I'm running the carbon synchros?

Before you state, yes I spent most of the night looking through HT and google and read all about Torco vs Amsoil vs Redline friction modifiers and went and googled what the heck Centistokes are.

I'm willing to admit that I'm even more confused now than before I started.

I want to drop the gearbox tomorrow to change the clutch so I wouldn't mind changing the oil and adding the friction modifier same time so I can get reduce the chatter so any help would be greatly appreciated.

A B-series gearbox only takes a little more than 2 quarts of oil.
