Final drive gear is too big to fit the countershaft bearing retainer.

There is no area left for the retainer to grab onto, this is a mfactory 3.471 final drive. I'm using a gear x 3-5 close set so I needed the long final drive to ensure I have enough 5th gear for the straightaway at mosport raceway. So will the bearing walk out of the case? What do?

Thanks, I had it in and there was binding, I wasn't sure if it was hitting just there but I know the gear x 4th gear i just installed was hitting the case so I ground the case down and then cleaned it. I will test fit it tomorrow.

It is definitely a much larger OD than any of the OEM FD's but it should clear the bolt/retainer clip without issue. It will clear the retaining plate underneath once its seated in the snap ring.
