Icon3 d16 automatic won't catch gear after normal operating temp

ok guys i need help asap please my car recently hit a pot hole and cracked the transmission case and all the automatic trans fluid spilled out so i decided to buy a used transmission working with all sensor and torque converter. seller is friend . i removed mine did radiator flush and filled up the torque converter before installing the new transmission .i installed everything to spec filled the transmission everything check out fine. next day i went to test ,car started good, put in drive moves , put reverse moves, the its started slipping so I shut the car off and checked the fluid everything start the car back up moved forward and back put in park let it set for a little, then wouldn't catch gear rpm's move when put in gear but it don't grab and it won't move . i got a job and its my daily so i need help asap .!!!
