Car jolts while in first gear!!!
Disclaimer: I KNOW HOW TO DRIVE A STICK SHIFT.
After I let out the clutch in first gear, at regular running speed (not when its starting to stall out, say 500 revs) the car jolts so badly my friend was freaking out. He was like "are you sure you know how to drive this thing?" I wasn't sure what was going on. I shifted into 2nd gear, and everything was fine. It doesn't always happen. Sometimes when I finish letting out the clutch, even with my foot completely off the clutch and the gas, it will lurch forward a bunch as if I am repeatedly tapping my foot on the gas pedal. This only happens in first gear. It really isn't THAT bad, it's just my friend always has ridden/driven in automatics and doesn't understand that there is a lot more driver involvement in a manual transmission vehicle. If it involves a major repair, I can definitely put up with it. But I can say with certainty that the clutch is in good shape (done a couple of VTEC pulls in first gear, and my shifts between the gears are smooth and flawless, giving me that feeling of mastering the mechanical sliding action of moving a shifter through the gates of a 5 speed transmission that only a person who has driven a stick shift could understand.)
Regardless, I still feel like this shouldn't happen at ALL. Is it just me letting out the clutch too fast, or is the clutch failing?
PS: I've heard of clutch shudder, and I know it might be that, but I'm not sure how it works.
Thanks friends.

It's not really a shaking as in vibrations. It just feels like you are driving down a road with a lot of potholes and your foot keeps bouncing off the gas pedal, making the car jerk a lot. (The suspension is fine, however.)

Ahh, sir I don't need a writing lesson. Not sure what credentials I should pull here, but let's just say I got a perfect 36 on the English section of the ACT in high school. Kinda lame, I know but I'm just trying to get some footing here...

Almost sounds like a fuel cut or lean misfire, both included in an engine not running correctly. So this thread should go to the Tech or Tuning forums for help. Good luck!
That was a paragraph. I can't imagine what you think about some very prominent novelists in American history then... Only on Honda-Tech can someone punctuate and capitalize correctly and we still get people bitching. LOL I saw his post and damn near wanted to make him H-T President because I could actually read it for once.

Re: Car jolts while in first gear!!!
this happened on my 91 civic. bone stock and only sometimes, starting in first, it would jolt horribly. only thing you could do was clutch in a wait a second then try again. it happened maybe 2/week.
i never did get that issue fixed... i just lived with it.
