'96 Accord Won't Rev Over 2,000 RPM
I have a '96 Accord non-vtec automatic and it won't rev over 2,000 rpm. It drove fine all the way to the store and when I got back in to pull out of the parking lot is when it messed up. I've replaced the distributor, fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, and the ECU and it's still doing it. The engine light hasn't came on since I changed the ECU so it's not showing any codes. Any suggestions as to what may be wrong?

I put the old ECU back on it and now it has a mind of it's own. Sometimes it'll only rev up to 2,000 RPM and sometimes it'll only rev up to 3,000 RPM. It changes about every other time it's started.

Re: '96 Accord Won't Rev Over 2,000 RPM
I've not had the chance to scan it yet because no auto parts store will rent out a code reader and I don't want to make a 30 mile trip to town barely making it to 20 mph and risking it not making it back. The engine light isn't on anymore since the swapping of the two ECUs. The engine light always stayed on beforehand but it ran fine other than it wouldn't go into the passing gear, so I never had scanned it. I've drove it down the road and back a couple times trying to get the engine light to come on so I can check for fault codes using the blue plug under the glove box but it hasn't came back on. I'll stay posted if anything changes.

I got lucky today and the engine light came back on. So I checked it using the blue plug and paper clip trick. The codes I got were:
4
6
7
10
14
17
Does anyone know what these codes are?

Re: '96 Accord Won't Rev Over 2,000 RPM
4 CKP - crank position sensor
6 ECT - water temperature sensor
7 TPS - throttle position sensor
10 IAT - intake air temperature sensor
14 IAC (EACV) - idle air control valve
17 VSS - speed sensor
Check that the ground on the thermostat housing is tight and hasn't got and damage to it.
