3rd Gear grinds caused by damaged 2nd gear? causes?
Hello All,
This is for my ITR USDM tranny with a 4.9. I got the car from a previous owner and all the syncros, sleeves etc were rebuilt. Oddly enough 3rd gear grinds at high RPM. Shop took it apart and says 2nd gear is pretty darn damaged and that 3rd gear is a bit too. I'm not really familiar with the workings of the b series transmission, but would a damaged 2nd gear cause a 3rd gear grind? if so, how could this have happened?
In which case, looking to buy ITR/B16A2 2nd and 3rd gear now.
