1992 Civic Auto - Overdrive torque converter lockup problems
Hello All,
First time posting, hopefully there is someone that can help.
Replaced the shift solenoid on the top of the transmission with one out of the junk yard because the trans would only go into lockup in the morning. It would consistently go into lockup at the proper speed and perform as it should all the way to work 16 miles total 10 freeway for the morning commute.
It would sit all day 8-9 hours then after 90-100degree days when I went home it would not go into lockup at all.
Even after replacing the shift solenoid the problem has remained. Could this be a issue with the clutch in the torque converter failing?
Is there anything anything else that could cause this issue, speed sensor, temp sensor from the engine that the computer reads for the trans. There is no trans temp sensor. Can't pull trans codes from what I know?
Reliable test for the solenoid?
Thank you,
Kevin Feil

my guess some kind of issue with a tcm (if that yr has one idk about auto from honda). if it does have a tcm most likely have a bad one or a bad conmection on board somwere (kind of like a eg main relay issue if you look up).
