Re: 00 honda accord v6 transmission problem
This is a typical problem with the B7XA transmissions. The clutch pressure control valves in the valve body can leak fluid and cause a really weak 2nd gear shift. Your unit will need to be rebuilt based on your description of the problem. There are a few aftermarket kits that replace the spools for clutch pressure control, the 2nd accumulator spring, and also a pilot drill for 1-2 fluid exhaust (highly recommended you do this). The valve body spacer drilling allows the clutch apply fluid to drain faster, and allow the gearshift to feel more positive. The internal cone filters will also have a lot of debris that will affect shift pressure and feel.
The B7XA does have some natural "odd" performance issues. At light throttle, the shift will be premature and "stiffer", which is acceptable performance. If you have over 40% throttle it will wind out to 3200-4000 rpm and shift "lazy". Aftermarket kits correct this behavior. Changing the fluid at this stage will also certainly result in increased 2nd gear slippage due to the decreased friction of the fluid (suspended clutch material aids in friction). |

OP, your rebuilder needs the rebuild kit here https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...build+kit,8512
and then the upgrade kit here as well, he needs to use these parts to upgrade so you don't have the same issue you are having again https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...ement+kit,8532 you can get a new torque converter from Florida Torque Converters and a filter https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...ic,filter,8600 |
