Default Would 84.5mm pistons fit in a 84mm bore?

I wanted to know if 84.5mm pistons would fit into a 84mm bore? if not, what would i have to do to get them to fit?

You will need to have the block honed to fit the pistons.I'm not sure why you would even ask such a question.

hey. i dont mean to steal your thread; but is there any way to put my 84mm pistons into my 81 mm block? if i try really really hard? i got some lube..? finesse that mother in there?

Im pretty good at putting big things in little places anyways.. whhart do you guys tihnk?

Honed is not the correct term. He will need to have the sleeves BORED 20 over to fit an 84.5mm over an 84mm piston. A honing will not go to 0.020 inches.

You guys are mean. It's a simple question requiring a simple answer. A little silly, but we're all here to learn.

Actually I do mean hone.My Sunnen CV616 will easily hone .020".I rarely bore a block if I'm not sleeving or need to correct an alignment issue.

bam!!! your right but not everyone thinks of a sunnen machine they think of a sunnen hone or a bottle brush style.

a lot of shops use a honing machine to bore blocks they use different stones. It is a lot cheaper to buy one honing machine to do both than buying a boring bar and honing machine.
