goto a pepboys or wholesale place
buy a combo - hydralic lift, 2 jackstands, and one of them back roller things
the cheapest i've seen em go for is 35bucks

Harbor Freight Tools. 2.5 ton jack that lifts over 20"--barely enough to clear the wheels when using the front and rear jacking points! It's a buff piece. They also have a variety of jackstands. I had to buy the smallest jackstands so they'd fit under my car! $40 for the jack, $15 for the pair of stands.
Do a search on Yahoo--you'll find a local branch in SoCal.
