What does this mean?

Little chip of the side there, my whole brakes are wonky with its chattering (after taking the anti-chatter clips off, otherwise they rubbed on the outer surface of the rotor but people said theirs doesn't chatter even with them removed) and random squeaking (possibly from cheap pads).

Wrong rotor caliper combination maybe.Deeply rusted rotors will do this even after being resurfaced too.Putting new pads on old unsurfaced rotors will look like that.

Thank you for the quick reply. I tried to take my rotors in for resurfacing but they said that it didn't need it. I guess buying new replacement rotors and pads to start all over is the way to go?

BTW, do you know what it means when the anti-chatter (V-shaped) clips rub on the outer edge of the rotors? That's why I replaced my pads in the first place because I didn't notice it.

Those are pad wear indicators. They make noise before your pads disappear and you have no brakes.

No, I meant the two V clips to prevent the pads from chattering when you brake. They're different from the clips that hold the pads to the 'mount'.
