what is this?
i was tranfering pumps and sensors from my type-r block to my b16 block and found this on the type-r
https://img234.imageshack.us/img234/...ture001yz6.jpg The b16 does not have that Then the oil filter adapter has a hose running to this part that was bolted into the block https://img236.imageshack.us/img236/...ture004vy9.jpg and on the b16 theres just a bolt there. Is this a type-r upgrade? |
Re: what is this? (wmertz187)
It's an oil cooler. Look at the hoses # 2 & 3. The cooler itself isn't numbered in this picture. One of the hose nozzles in the block is #1 - that's what you have. You may need to use the water pipe off the type-R because of number of hose connections.

Re: what is this? (wmertz187)
and to put the oil cooler on the b16 i would need to install this
https://img209.imageshack.us/img209/...ture003du6.jpg Its the screw for the oil filter, so ofcoarse i would have to remove the one out of the b16.. Can i do that? |
Re: what is this? (wmertz187)
The one in your B16 should be almost like a simple pipe nipple. I think you can just take that out & replace it with that extended one in your picture. Someone verify that for sure?

Re: what is this? (wmertz187)
i had nothing else so i clamped it down with vice grips and twisted it slwoly

You can use a strap wrench if you don't want to damage the threads.
