Weird Idle Help

heres whats happening.

start the car, it will idle anywhere from 1400- 2000 rpms and stay there, even when the engine is very warm.

engine gets pretty hot considering its only idling. i dunno its been awhile since i've run it. and it kicks on the fans

car runs rich.

Car Setup

B18b benson sleeved LS Block (81.5mm)
1st gen b16a head (STOCK)
CP 10.6:1 CR pistons
Pauter Rods
Endyn Girdle
ITR Intake Manifold
ITR injectors
AEM Fuel Rail
AEM FPR (set at 48psi with vacuum at idle) CHANGED TO 43 PSI
B16a Cams
Walbro 255lph Pump
Chipped p28 w/ phIz chip
Boomslang OBD Conversion harness.

the IACV works, i replaced it with a working one, and then even unplugged the iacv and the CEL came on and rpms bounced back and forth from 1500-1600.

There are NO CEL lights on during normal operation.

the shitty A/F ratio gauge mainly says im really really rich.

throttle cable to tight?

Re: Weird Idle Help (im_poor)

it's a mildly worked JDM P30 program. With fuel to support the bump in displacment. All Diagnostic sensor code is intact (minus KS, and anything else JDM stuff doesn't check for.)

Re: Weird Idle Help (spaceman)

I've checked pretty much every vacuum source there is and everything seems pretty tight.

i installed them and yes the correct gaskets were used. would the fact that im missing my evap sensor (they come attached to a port on the intake manifold and on the itr its seperate) have anything to do with it?

Re: Weird Idle Help (Code Blue)

i think the evap is definitely my problem, when i squeeze the vacuum line going to the canister (another person helped me with a bunch of stuff and hooked the vacuum line from the intake manifolt to the box directly, no sensor) i can bring the idle down. now it looks like i have to find an itr evap sensor

Re: Weird Idle Help (Code Blue)

problem is solved. it was in fact the evap, i rigged it up to work externally instead of plugging it into the port on the intake manifold

Could you have just bypassed/jumpered it?
