We have TRIED, TRIED, AND TRIED to figure out. What's up with my h22a??
Does anyone know if there's some kind of a safe mode or something for these h22a's? We recently put one in my 98 EX, and everythings fine except one, LITTLE thing evidentally. I've searched the archives, but couldn't really find an answer, so now i turn to maybe some help from someone else. Here's what's up:
The car runs great going down the road, but it has TWO problems with it's idling. If you get in it, and it has NO CEL, and go down the road running it pretty good, and come to a drastic stop and the rpms drop of quick (It's a manual tranny), the idle will surge between 1000 and 1300, but ONLY say 3 or 4 times before it finally settles down at around 900. OK, but HERE'S where it starts to mess with my head. After you crank it up and drive it for a while, it always eventually throws a CEL. And AFTER it's throwing the CEL, it NEVER does the idle surging thing again when you come to a stop. But just as soon as you cut the car off long enough for the CEL to go off, and then drive it again, it does it again.
Now my EGR is NOT hooked up, and that may be throwing the CEL, but why does it STOP when the light comes on? Anyone got any ideas??
