Default transmission oil change, anyone near chicago? beer awarded

im trying to change my trans oil on a 5 speed d series. i need a square male socket in 14mm, i cant find ont anywhere. im using honda genuine oil and when i call a mech shop they wanna charge me a hundo. does anyone near by have one that can help me out. ill do all the work i just dont have that bit and cant find on

the red circle is around the bolt im talking about. someone told me to stick a 1/4 socket in there, but its bigger than 1/4 its like 1 inch. someone got some word?

yes, usually its a 3/8 ratchet square. thats how all honda trannys have been that i have worked on

do you have a 3/8 and a 1/2 inch ratchet?? try both of them. one will fit guaranteed

i just drained my transmission, i just used a ratchet and it all spewed out. it spews out pretty far if you're on a lift. so make sure you got some coverage.

i did it in my garage, jacked it up, loosened it, pt it back down and level, took it off. let it drain, back on, 2 quarts, both bolts back on with fresh washers, torques tight 33 and 29 i believe, i dont think it matters too much

is their another plug to put the oil in i heard near the speed sensor theirs one but i dont know if its in a b series tranny i want to change mine also but i think its leaking but can't find where its coming from?

there are 2 bolts on the side of the tranny, look at the pic above for reference, one is a 17mm bolt and the other has a square shape that you stick a 3/8 drive in. the 17 mm bolt is your filler. fill the trans through the top bolt (17 mm on the side) till it drips out. the fluid should only fill to that bolt. when done. plug it. make sure you use fresh washers from honda, each or diff sizes. and make sure the car is lever when doing this.
