Tornado Fuelsaver Review

okay guys, i know a lot of you believe the tornado fuel saver doesn't work, but since it came with a 30 day money back gaurentee, i decided i should try it out.
Today i installed the fuelsaver on my car, and it was a very tight fit, which is good because it will not move around in my intake. The install was easy, and didn't take much time at all. I just took of my intake, removed the air filter, and secured the tornado fuel saver right after the air filter and in between the intake piping. Then i put the intake back on the car and tightened everything down and took it for a drive. I immediately felt a good increase in power after driving it on the city streets, and even more on the freeway. On the freeway, the car felt more responsive, and the mph would go up easier when gently accelerating. At full throttle, it also felt like it gained performace, and it put a smile on my face. I was just wondering if anyone else tried this on their car, and if they felt the same as me? i can't prove it since i don't have a dyno, but i really think it works now.

BTW DON'T KNOCK IT TILL YOU TRY IT.

i obviously don't have a dyno.

zad5 Jul 13, 2004 09:32 PM

i wotn be surprised if it give a few whp on dyno 2whp but we'll have to c

zad5 Jul 13, 2004 09:40 PM

i actually looked around some chevy motor said he gain a lil on a dyno but wasnt worth it some honda guy dynod and said it restricts flow and he lost 5whp. but i dunno i would like to c a dyno from a hondatech member i dunno about random people on internet.

Re: (zad5)

Everyone is so quick to say dyno everytime someone brings up some cheesy little addition. I'm definitely not backing this product up nor would I ever purchase one for my car, but..... There is no such a thing as a "real world dyno" no matter how hard you try you can not simulate driving conditions, such as freeway or city driving. The best thing to do is check your mileage with and without that, and also maybe race the thing and see if there is any real world increase with that product on YOUR vehicle. I'm not saying dynos lie but in some cases they may not tell the whole truth. Also it would cost more to dyno it to see if it works then the product cost to begin with.

Re: (Sack Master)

My friend with a the new V8 4-runner said he def. noticed improved gas mileage and a bit of performance gain. He's also got a G-Tech Pro on his truck so that's the closest to a dyno he's gonna get. I say if it's cheap enough, sure why not get one and try. Me personally, I won't be tryin anytime soon but maybe in the later future if I get bored.

zad5 Jul 13, 2004 10:09 PM

Sack Master i know dyno arent accurate this and that but its the only measurement too see a change in hp gain. and dynoing something like an intake varies with temperature condition if u stick the intake in the air on the dyno i know it gains soem more. but the function doesnt change it doesnt vary so dynoing the tornado is a legit idea in my opinon.

Re: (zad5)

I am not going to argue with you at all. But I will say that the little fan that they use in front of a car during a dyno run no way compesates for drving at 70mph on the freeway. We are talking minute airflow differences here and especially on an application like this will "real world testing" yield proper results.

well its supposed too improve gas mileage and hp for all cars right??i seriously doubt everyday drivers go 70mp or even close in the city in stop and go traffic.. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

have you guys ever tried it? i don't think so.

Re: (CWESTINDC2)

honestly if you think there theory works.. good but you realized after the TB and the dividing of air by 4 = intake runners "speaking for most honda" .. you really think theres still "tornado effect" going on? you be the judge... plus placing an object in the intake causes loss of velocity of air also.. which in theory is a no gain
its a theory of airflow

H23AHybridEG Jul 14, 2004 06:59 PM

Re: (ShowTymers619)

I haven't tried it, and I don't need to! Just like was said before, it might create a "tornado" effect, but it is also a nice obstruction!

suprmods Jul 14, 2004 08:31 PM

he could dyno it...but the whole point of the thing is to swirl the air that comes into the intake and on a dyno that fan placed in front of the cars wont give the same amount of air flow that happens on the freeway, so less of an effect = less gain. but it is an obstruction, albeit a small one, but a small obstruction is still an obstruction.....

My thoughts exactly! Only problem is my cuzin got one for this lifted T100 w/ big tires and all and he DID gain around 80miles on the tank https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emdgust.gif I don't know how or why? Just don't make sense to me.

i gained 3-4 horsepower from my performance blinker lights.....

A local news station here in San Diego did a test on it. It actually lost 3/10 MPG.
