Sputtering/bogging after compression test

Noob here, but eager to learn the correct way to diagnose and resolve.

A buddy of mine performed a compression test a few days ago on my turbo civic hatch and ever since it's had a bad sputtering bogging issue that's intermittent, but usually occurs post WOT and when the car is fully warmed up.

He removed all spark plugs and unplugged injectors 1 and 3 during the test, but I just read the correct way to perform this test is...

4. Disable the fuel system by removing the fuel pump fuse, and disable the ignition system by detaching the primary low voltagewiresfrom the ignition coil. Or like me and just disconnect the coil spark wire from the coil, your call on this one.

If neither the fuel pump fuse nor the ignition coil was disabled as described above, what could've went wrong? In other words what do I need to be checking/ diagnosing in order to resolve the issue?

Many thanks in advance!

Re: Sputtering/bogging after compression test

Some more info on the build might help...

93' hatch w/ B16a with lsd transmission - Eagle rods - Weisco pistons - ACL bearings - block gaurd - ARP headstuds - skunk2 intake manifold - skunk2 throttle body - AEM fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator - t3/t4 turbo - log style manifold - turbo smart 38mm wastegate - tig welded black intercooler piping and intercooloer - dsm 450cc injectors - mishimoto radiator

Freshly built 10k ago.

I just bought the car a couple of weeks ago and it was running perfectly before the compression test so I'm 99.9% certain something went wrong in either the ignition or fuel system.

I'm a heavy machinery diesel mechanic by trade, and have done many shade tree mechanic jobs on hondas, but am still learning about highly modified high performance hondas. Am planning to break out the ohm meter after work and check the resistance on the wires and dizzy, but need to know if I'm on the right track and if there's other components/ areas I need to be testing.

Anyone have an idea on what might be wrong? Please help if you can shed some light.
