Speedometer goes out while racing. ????????????
 

My speedometer has been turning off maybe a couple times a week if that when driving around town, but it always comes right back on when I get on the car. Last week and last night at the drag races my speedometer just bounces around like crazy and stops working completely when I race. My trap speed is about 100 (from the time the speedo did work). Any ideas on what the problem is? What can I check? Thanks

check your Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). It's on the back side of you tranny...check to see if it's corroded...

I unplugged the VSS and plugged it back in now it doesn't work at all and is throwing VSS code.

well then that sounds like your problem.

your vss might be bad. try using one that is in working condition and see if that cures the problem

In VSS there is pin that inserted into the tranny, it could be bad. try replace a new one..
