short shifter or quick shifter????

What is the difference between short shifter and quick shifter? And what shifter has the shortest throw? I have a 96 civic.

If you want to keep your tranny just stick w/ the stock one because either will screw your tranny up https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif You can shift faster w/ a stock shifter anyways, the short shifters are shorter but more difficult to shift. Stay away from them for your own good https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif

Mine works great... Never heard of a transmission going out because of a shifter. http://images.honda-tech.com/set1//smile/emcrook.gif

shifters don't ruin tranny, people do https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emhammer.gif

Maybe u guys have not have problems yet, but ive know lots of people that have ruined trannys cause of those junk shifters; but even if they dont ruin trannys, u can still shift faster w/ the stock shifter.......

I honestly drove both short and stock shifters... the difference as far as I'm concerned is insignificant.. the short shifter felt better, but the stock shifter did the job just as quick.

In all the trannys that I have changed I have never been able to blame a blown trans on the shifter. I have never even talked to anybody that has blown a trans because of a shifter. Shifter do not blow trannys drivers not knowing how to drive blow trannys

How do you figure that you can shift a car faster with a stock shifter. It is simple physics. If one object travels a shorter distance than another it will get there faster.

I'm still not a believer that a short shifter kills a tranny, any proof?

That's not the question! I want 2 know what's the difference between a buddy club quick shifter and a buddy club short shifter? That's an example! I like short shifters and its not the short shifter that blows trannys. Its the driver that doesn't know how 2 shift and can't handle a short shifter. But I'm looking for the best and shortest throw short shifter out for a 96 civic.

80,000 miles on skunk2 shifter and not one problem. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Yes he has a good point but if you are drag racing on a stock Honda trans the power from the motor is going to blown the gears and or case a part long before the short shifter destroys your synchros

A B&M or Skunk 2 seem to be some of the favorites, but my $14.99 short shifter from eBay has been working well in my hatch. I'd probably try the Evasive Motorsports shifter in the classifieds, a lot of HTers like them, and not that expensive.
