seafoam it?
hey guys. I've got an h23a1 in my cb7 that's been sitting empty on blocks for a while. just noticed yesterday that my oil pan was pulled off, and now there's dirt all over the place. what's the best way for me to clean it all out? I ran synthetic motor oil in it before as well, and was wonder if there's any steps I should take before running conventional?
thanks, -Derek |
Re: seafoam it?
wrong section bud
this is not tech support you might want to take the engine out since any sand inside the engine is bad news. if you use pressure washer it might force the sand granules into bearing areas or between other moving parts and will start scratching the surfaces. i personaly would pull it out and put it on engine stand and clean then inspect very closely and rotate by hand(and take the head off) you might not realize but wind will blow the dust and dirt into the engine and you wont nottice untill your engine starts making funny noise |
Re: seafoam it?

Re: seafoam it?
so, I'm planning on swapping this motor into my hatch, right?
So, this would be a good idea, right? http://www.cleggengine.com/honda-2-3...uild-kits.html also, I suppose I have a rough idea, but if anyone could tell me the necessary tools to rebuild, it'd be greatly appreciated. oh! and maybe where I can look for the torque specs? thanks big time! |
Re: seafoam it?
Buy a service manual theyre only 50 bucks at helms
Sesrch honda tech or google"what tools do i need for engine rebuild" |
Re: seafoam it?
okay. sweet. so the the rebuild kit looks legit, right?
|
Re: seafoam it?
id stick with honda rebuild kit if you plan on daily driving it for long time. the money you save here will cost you in the oil you buy later because the seals are leaking.

Re: seafoam it?
the only thing under gasket kits for the h23a1 is this.
http://estore.honda.com/honda/parts/...n=&b=E++20&dl= should I just call? or do you have a rough idea of what it might cost? |
