cam journal scar??
I just bought a b17 head and the exhaust side number 3 cam journal is groved. Can this be fixed and what all would I have to buy or do to fix it and how much would it cost? I'm planning on buying a new set if came and a new cam cap but what do i do about the head itself?

Anything can be "fixed" the question is. will it be cost effective.
As mentioned, take it to a machine shop and get an quote, you are probably going to need to have the valves done, and maybe even have it machined or at the very least checked to see if head is warped. 94

I can't post pics cause of the trail member thing but i pulled it all apart today to take it to the machine shop tomorrow and I'm buying new cans and cam cap so hopefully they can fix it for not to much. Do i have to have the new cam cap before i get it fixed if they can for like the line bore or something? And what else should i get done to the head while its at the machine shop?

First thing is to get it checked, it's used so it will be warped, how much you can't know until checked, also would be good to know there are no cracks in it.
Definitely a valve job, maybe even a port and polish. 94
