Replacing the timing belt

I am replacing the timing belt on a B20Z. How am I supposed to line up the lines on the cam gears? What about the notch on the crank pulley? I assume its the same as the B18B. Any help is appreciated.

From what I understand you need to rotate the crank pulley to get everything to line up. It is very important to only rotate it counter-clockwise (the direction of the engines natural rotation) ... although I am not sure why.

Once the crank mark is line up with the block TDC mark the cam gears should both have their arrows pointing straight up.

Re: Replacing the timing belt (95GS-R)

which mark on the crank pulley is TDC? The white or the red? And what am I supposed to line that notch up with? Is there a mark on the block?

How do I know if the arrows on the cam gears are pointing straight up? Do I line up the lines on the sides of the cam gears with the head gasket?

Picture of timing marks is on the right.

As for the cam gears ... they have a mark that will point at each other when at TDC, measure that with a straight edge, and don't get off a tooth!

Thank you very much. I need to get rid of my D16Z6 Helms manual and get one for my new B20Z or LS
