Replacing fuel hard line
 

I searched but couldn't find anything about this. I have a fuel line leak in my 89 hatch and I'm not sure what is involved in replacing the hard line that runs the length of the car. Please tell me I'm not going to have to remove the dash. I removed the rear seat, pulled the plastic cover over the lines as they run into the car and so on. It looks like I'm going to be removing a lot of plastic trim. Can anyone give insight if they have done this before?

What car do you have that has the gas line(s) running inside the car???

89 Civic DX hatchback. The lines don't have any connections inside the car, and the leaky part is out back under the tank but there are hard lines that run through the floor, under the back seat, along the rocker panel, and then through the firewall.

I am going to have to look at an 89 DX, I can't find anything through Google that would help.

Can you see where the 3 lines go through the fire wall?

why not just cut the line before / after the leaky area, add the flare fittings and reconnect. be easier than replacing the entire length of line.

FCM, excellent link, yes those three lines run up under the back seat, up the door sill, and under the dash. Thanks.

Slobalt, that is exactly what I did. It was much much easier.

Problem solved!

Edit: Also, while I'm hoping this doesn't happen again, the other two lines were plenty rust too. I might end up doing those sooner than later.
