removing my engine harness, I broke a sensor....what is it???
Im removing my motor so I can build my bottom end, and while I Was removing the engine harness I couldnt get the wires off of this sensor and I ended up breaking it. I unscrewed the sensor and coolant started coming out so I put it back in. It is below teh vtec solenoid. Here are some pics.

You are correct. It is called the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECT sensor). https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif |

actually the signal is sent to the cluster from the temp gage sending unit. It has a yel/grn wire with a female bullet connector on the end. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by shamoo »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">It is called the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECT sensor). https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif </TD></TR></TABLE> <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by tgreaves »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Go to a junkyard and grab one off of any honda/acura.. Also you can still drive with it like that for the time being, only thing is your temp gauge on your cluster isnt going to work..

Not only that, the ECU uses it to calibrate cold fuel enrichment.
