Problem with tranny.
 

on top of the tranny next to the motor mount, there is a bolt, that i am missing. I guy in town said that it is suppose to hold in a ball bearing and maybe a spring. I never noticed it till now. i will get some pics up today. This might be one of the reason's why i cant get into gear. It also might be caused by the person that took it apart and put together though. The guy who looked at it says he probly didnt put the shift fork in right. I bought the tranny from him, and was under the impression that the tranny was in perfect working order. but obviously not. thanks for any input.

Do you mean #'s 10, 18, 9, 23? That's the bolt/spring/ball combo that holds the shift fork in place. Could be what's causing your shifting problems.

that looks like the one. Thanks for the pic. Now do you know where i can buy that assembly? Would that not let me into each gear? i am by no means a tranny expert.

You can buy it from either the dealer or that website, http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com or if you're using a B18 tranny go to http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.com. Look under MT HOUSING.

As far as it not letting you shift gears, the whole point of that ball/spring/bolt is to hold the shift forks into place. There is a slight indentation in the shift fork, and that's what the ball sits in. Without that assembly there, it is possible that the shift fork is not properly aligned and thus causing you problems with your shifting. Either way, it needs to be there, and it may just solve your problem.

http://www.acuraautomotivepart...y.jsp at this site it doesnt look like the whole i was talking about on top of the tranny gets a ball and spring in it. it looks like a bolt and washer # 11,15. check it out. the 23 7 19 8 is the bolt and sping assembly and its on the bottom. check it out and tell me what you think.

The pic on the top is from a 96-00 Civic. You're right though, the picture on acura's website would lead you to believe that the ball/spring/bolt assembly goes in from the bottom of the tranny. However, there are three of those assemblies for a tranny, and that should not change from civic to integra. There are 3 shift forks in both trannies, so there should be three holes for the ball/spring/bolt.

Can you take a flashlight and see what's inside that hole? You should be able to see a dark colored metal rod, with an indent in it facing up. If that's what you see, then that's where the ball/spring/bolt goes. Let me know what you see.

i have pics, i will post, and i will also take a flash light and look. Alot of good it will do me though. I am forced to wait till spring to finish. Has rust=going to rust more anyways. But hey i dont pay the house bills so i guess i must not biotch.

Cover up that empty bolt hole, so stuff can't fall in there. Since you're not driving it over the winter, put something around/in the intake so mice can't chew up your air filter.
