Phenolic gasket material??

Hi, i'm just curious which grade of phenolic i should be using to make an intake manifold spacer. i was planning to order from mcmaster.com but there are like 12 different grades and when i called, the tech said he couldnt guarantee its behavior below the "low temp" rating (which was 45*F). i live in the northeast and sometimes it gets pretty cold, so i dont want it to crumble into my runners on a cold morning(if it would even do that, i have no idea). if you can suggest a place that has the material for cheaper, i'm all ears, it needs to be 1/4"x4"x18-24"

thanks
-Pat

Is this just plain phenolic? I know they use carbon phenolic and silica phenolic as insulation on rocket motors that go into space and any kind of "crumbling" would lead to faliure. I would do some research on the material itself.

goto http://www.mcmaster.com and search for "phenolic". then tell me which grade i should be using, no one can seem to tell me what will happen if its exposed to temps below 45*...i just need something soon, my transmission will be here thursday and i'd like to have the intake spacer done before my motor is broken in and my car is completely back in action(2-4 weeks)
