painted block?

I just picked up a used B18C block for cheap. My friend (a dumbass) decided that the block needed a freshing up and painted the d*mn thing silver! http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/mad.gif What should I do to return the block to it's original state; paint remover, sandblast, beadblast, etc.?

i would try paint thinner first. then go down the line. never been in that situation so im guessing.

be careful. i once bought a painted "B18C" block to find out it was a HOT motor. and it was really a stolen USDM one. Use the paint stripper in a can.

Thanks for tip...but I know the block isn't stolen. VIN # is still on the block and I know the car it came out of.

I figured I would try some form of spray on remover first. Should I be careful not to get it on anything. Figured I'd tape up the cylinders and crank journals.
