p72 ecu + H22?

My brother is looking at a 2000 prelude with a h22 and the guy said he put an obd1 ecu in it and the way he made it sound was that he put a sohc ecu in it or something and said it works and won't sell the car with the ecu he said we need to bring one and i have a p72 but i wasn't sure if it would work or not. any info would be greatly appreciated thanks guys..

If its converted to obd1. You need a p13

He probably had a chipped P28 ecu in the car. P13 is the proper ecu for the motor.

If it's an OBD1 P72 you can use it once it's chipped and tuned. A p72 is kind of nice for an H22 since it has the circuitry for the IABs/secondary butterflies.
