OBD1/OBD2 Distributor Questions (Yeah I searched...)
I know that you can repin an OBD1 distributor to fit and OBD2 car as shown below:
However the question is do I need to do that in my particular application.
The car is a 1996 Civic hatchback that originally had a sohc nonvtec motor. The new motor is an OBD1 sohc vtec swap using an OBD2A->OBD1 harness for the ECU. I'm retaining the obd2 injectors and other accessories.
Now can I use the distributor that came in the car originally since the sohc's are pretty much the same geometetry from 92-00? I was told yes and no depending on who I asked. Or must I repin the OBD1 distributor to use the newer plugs?
