NEED HELP ASAP!!!!

I have a 1996 Integra 5spd. It was throwing code 71 and 72 random missfire. So I replaced plugs, wires, cap and button(all OEM parts). Car ran ok for about 15 minutes until it was warmed up then it started missing again. Cleared codes drove it to work today ran fine when it was cold, as soon as it warmed up ran shitty and check engine lite came on. Check codes again now its just a 72. Also car started idling high at 2000 when I would come to stops. I am at a loss PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you test it like the coil?

i don't remember, do you have a helms manual? i know you can test voltage at the leads that connect to the ignitor but i don't know if there's a test for the ignitor itself.

Random misfire is normally a symptom of fuel issues...
When was last time fuel filter was changed?
Have you checked fuel pressure?

Have you checked the PGM-FI Main Relay?

Are the spark plugs gaped properly, did you check?
Have you checked timing?
Have you checked for vacuum leaks?

Swap out the coil and ICM, if it's not them it can't hurt to have a spare around anyway?

Make sure all connections in the distributor or tight.94

New plugs gaped to 44? Haven't changed fuel filter will do tomorrow. Tested Coil came out in spec. Is the ICM the one under the coil to the right? And can I test it?

Re: NEED HELP ASAP!!!!

Yes, that is where it is at, there is no reliable test for an ICM that is intermittent/weak, only if completely dead.

A spark test will tell you more, a good strong consistent spark would indicate nothing wrong with ign. system.

My best guess is it is a fuel issue. 94

to test icm use an old school test with lead clipped to positive on battery and probe the neg terminal on coil(they're labeled). the test llight should flash while cranking.
