Metallic rattle / clank clank coming from left front wheel on sharp turns...
Hello.
I drive a '98 Acura EL, same chassis as the 96 - 00 civic. With 300k on the body.
K20a swap, type -r brake upgrade, DSS stage 2 axles, skunk2 pro camber kit, blox toe kit, all with about 20,000 km's.
I have a loud sort of rattle / clank clank clank, coming from my front left wheel during sharp turns. It almost has that twang sound of a heat shield rattling, combined with a grind noise. It's not constant, like once per second during parking lot and intersection turns. It happens when I turn eitherway. Though a bit louder when turing left, if I remember correctly. It sounds like it speeds up and slows down with wheel rotation.
A guy at a tire shop, said he thought it was a wheel bearing when putting new rubber on my winter rims. But a bad wheel bearing doesn't make that kind of noise... Does it?
It's not the clunk of a tie rod, or the click of an axle/cv joint
I've read a potential brake pad clip rubbing on the caliper or a rock between the shield and rotor can make this noise.
I've searched for like 3 hours on-line and I'm still kinda lost.
I think I'd like to diagnose and repair it myself if possible. Cause I'm just starting to assemble a collection of auto tools and do my own work on my car. Best way to learn.
I'll jack it up tonight, check the wheel for play, pop the wheel off and look at the hub/brake. Anything I should be looking for specifically?
Thanks for any input.

Ended up working a 17 today.
Bud did have time to go visit my car and jack it up quick.
The front left wheel has a lot of play. Horizontal and vertical.
