machining crank pulley but still retain harmonic balancer?
B18c
a/c and p/s removed
could I just take it to a machine shop and have them remove the section of the crank pulley that used to drive the a/c and p/s?
will this effect the harmonic balancer?

I'm planning to do the same thing. Just have it rebalanced. My machine shop had nothing against this. And it's less rotating mass, so it has to help.

Mine was a b1tch to machine on a lathe. I ended up cutting most of it off with an angle grinder and then trimming on lathe.
