low idle when hot
Why is it that, when its really hot and im driving for awhile, the idle gets low. Like 400-500. Something else is that when I press the brakes a few times the idle goes up as if i were stepping on the gas...Whats going on?

Re: low idle when hot
400-500 is normal for idle

Re: low idle when hot
Well why does it feel like it wants to turn off? And why does the idle go up when i step on the brakes? Im running a b16 in my ed7, obd-0.

Re: low idle when hot
wow since when is 400-500 rpm at idle normal?
Manual Transmission 750 +/- 50 rpm Automatic Transmission Note: In Neutral 750 +/- 50 r |
Re: low idle when hot
pumping the brakes /idle goes up is normal
either adjust your idle alan screw or adjust it in your ecu if its chipped |
Re: low idle when hot
Check your fuel and air filters.

Re: low idle when hot
Sorry for the ignorance, but where exactly is the fuel filter on my b16?

Re: low idle when hot
500 is pretty low. normal is 750 +/- 50. i idle around 810 +/- 10. :P
i say adjust the idle screw when warm. should be kosher after that. |
Re: low idle when hot
Yeah, take out the black cup-looking thing and replace the copper washers with the ones that come with the new filter. Idle can appear to be up to almost 100rpm different depending on the driver's height. Gauge overlays can also make idle rpm look different.
