OBD1 LS ECU into 93 Del Sol with OBD2 GSR swap plus VAFC2, help?
my friend is just going FI. my turbo LS is down so we bought a obd2 to obd1 conversion harness, I made him a basemap for a gsr and put it in the ecu.
the car has a VAFC-2 installed for reference.
The car started fine. but there was a CEL...I was unsure if we could still use the OBD2 plug/play code reader? or not?
anyway, we set the vtec engagement to "stock" on the controller to see if the ecu would engage vtec. and no vtec engaged.
We then turned the controller back on, and it engaged.
my question is...
in VTEC is it actually reading the hi-fuel part of the map on the chip? or is it running off the lo-fuel part?
the pull in vtec felt great, we have no spring in the wastegate so there was no boost. we wanted to just try and see if this ECU would work..
So if anybody has an answers to that question that would be appreciated.
Have you heard of anyone doing this with no problems?
Do you definately need a GSR or "VTEC" ECU?

LS ecu is what again? I don't think the ls has vtec. If you enable vtec on a non-vtec ecu, you'll have problems. Get a gsr ecu, the gsr has secondaries that no other ecus can handle really.
