Leaking from Distributor
Hi guys,
Ever since I swapped the motor into my hatch, I've been battling a oil leak problem at the bottom of my distributor. It is only isolated to the distributor but the oil will seep down to the crevice between the head and the block. Anyways, from what I could see, it is leaking from the bottom leg. I've tried to tighten the bolts down as tight as possible, I've tried to use hondabond on the mating surface of the distributor where it comes in contact with the head. But it is still leaking and is bugging the heck out of me. I've used wire brush to clean both surfaces as well, and nothing seems to be working. Has anyone had this experience and how you fixed the problem? Edit: I forgot to mention that I changed the o-ring as well, so I know it's not the o-ring. Thanks, -Jeff C. |
Re: Leaking from Distributor (jcda6)
that means your distributor bearing is shot
so just change your distributor. |

Re: (FMIDRC Racer)
Put a new o ring on your distributor shaft. I think there is 2 of them actaully. It took me about 2 mins to do. I had the same problem.
Go to harbor freight tools and get there o ring kit for like 10 dollars. Itincludes like 500 orings. More than plenty for any thing you would ever need Edit : I just saw you put edit that you changed ur oring. Did you get the right size? |
Re: Leaking from Distributor (jcda6)
my guess is that it's not your dist... it's probably your exaust cam seal... or could be your spoolvalve gasket (vtec sol.)... good luck tom
p.s. if your bearings were going out of your dist it wuold be filling your dist up with oil... |
