Knock sensor issues with B20B-based CRVTEC?
OK, the B20B doesn't have a knock sensor. Running with a VTEC ECU that expects a knock sensor to be connected is going to throw a CEL, correct? Is there any way to either add a knock sensor to the B20B block or to fool the ECU into thinking that it has a correctly-funcitoning knock sensor attatched that is just sending a constant signal?
Or, does the ECU just not care about the knock sensor if one is not connected and not even throw a CEL? I doubt this would happen but wouldn't it be nice? I forgot to ask...where exactly is the KS? From my Helms I can't even tell where it is. If it's on the head then obviously it's not an issue. [Modified by MrFatBooty, 8:23 AM 12/10/2001] |

There is a place for the knock sensor on a b20 block.
Just throw one in and you will be good to go. Its in the center at the top of the block underneath the intake manifold. |

What I did was... get a NOC sensor from the block and tapped it to the hole that is on the head.. and it ran fine. The Sensor just needs to destec any engine detonation..

Or you can runa p28 ecu with a mugen program....no need for a knock sensor.
a honda knock sensor cost $104...so be careful when you install it cause it's pricey. |

What type of ECU are you running?

Re: Knock sensor issues with B20B-based CRVTEC? (GEN2 HYBRID)
like sgt said, there is a place for the knock sensor already on the b20's ....so there is no need to drill and tap.
