Chipped ECU acting up, Stock works fine.
I purchased a ECU from a friend here on H-T, hes a good guy...
Heres the problem...With the chipped ecu (its a po6 [i forgot] converted to a p28 with a OBD2b-OBD1 Conversion Harness) it throws codes:
- 3 (map),
- 6 (Water Temp Sensor),
- 7 (TPS),
- 10 ( Intake Temp Sensor).
All of the sensors were fine before, so i know something up, i plugged in the stock ecu, and re-set it, boom NO codes....The guy says the ecu worked fine for him, but i can't run it on my car cause it has a Skunk2 Program, which is running too rich to break in my motor, black smoke comes out the tail when it idles, i dont want it to wash out the sleeves, so im not running it with that ECU. I can't run the stock ecu because its currently running a friends car and thats the only ecu we have to run it.
What do you think the problem is?
Could it just be the chip in the ecu or is it the whole ecu?
Should i get a stock b16 map and check if it still throws codes on the OBD1 computer?
EDIT:::
Alright, i put a stock p28 in there and guess what, same codes, im starting to think its the conversion harness :-(
Thanks,
-Cole

If just one chip causes the problem and other chips are fine, it's that chip. Try reburning it and see if that helps.
