Default honing my 75mm d16z6 can I use a 4" dingleberry!?!?

my bore is roughly 3" in diameter, will it cause too much pressure against the cylinders (remove too much material) if I use the 4" honing tool.

i know the stock bore is 75mm....just about 3". I am not boring the sleeves just honing them.

I want to know is it a bad idea to hone 75mm(3") cylinders with a 4" diameter honing tool?

ummm......i wouldn't risk it..........

but I'm not a machinist so why not call up a machine shop who specializes in boring/honing honda engines and ask them if it's "OK"

i have used a couple times a stone glaze breaker with good sucsess......

i called a shop and they said I would be ok. Just move quicker to avoid from removing too much material.

I just want a second opinion

I'm assuming you are referring to a ball hone. They make lots of sizes for a reason. My guess is that if you are careful it will be OK. I'd be inclined to beg, borrow, or even buy the correct size myself. You could try one of the old style spring loaded 3-stone hones. They were usable on most bore sizes.
