again this is just my opinion because i tune both hondata and crome... as far as burning chips goes .. there is no need for that

agreed, but then you need to convert your p28 to a p72, which isn't hard at all, if you do it yourself. I found new s300 units for $535 shipped. I don't think that is expensive at all comparde to K-Pro or the other products that hondata has to offer. I was just planning on using the VTEC output for nitrous in crome intill i get hondata. But the Vtec and IAB output doesn't have an RPM where it shuts off.

Re: (dxcoupe.)
Neptune is sort of like a free engine block - its only worth the time/money if you don't have to travel several hours and devote a whole day to get it. Otherwise crome has everything you really need for a street car. If you really need a crapload of extra features, you might as well jump up to an AEM box. The biggest problem with Neptune is that it seems more like a hobby venture than a product/company. They don't follow any economic plan (IE controlling supply, but keeping fixed costs), don't want to grow at all, and have had their RTP stuff in quasi-devolement for over a year. A business owner with half a brain would understand the better option would have been to buy the design/production rights from the designer and get it finished & produced elsewhere, and pay for that buyout with an extra year of sales. Thats 100% possible as everyone knows theres at least a dozen cars on here with RTP 'test' boards. But I digress.
Crome = for anybody
Hondata = 'namebrand' people who can't read pgmfi.org
Neptune = for a 'weekend warrior'/hobby car ...if a tuner is in range

you mean that its like an expensive engine block that still requires a mechanic to finish the build, but the problem is you cant just take it a regular machine shop, you have to ship it back to japan to get rebuild.
in most people eyes s300 is also overprice, but it is user freindly so it pays off. crome I never got it to work, but I've heard a lot of success stories. s300

There are a few cars in my area running Neptune, one my shop had a huge role in building. Both are above 550 whp. Personally I feel that an engine management system that can perform that degree of tuning and retain alot of the factory functions and programs is a worthy engine management.
To my understanding Neptune is on lockdown as far as tuners.
I have had good experiences with Chrome and Hondata as well.
I would prefer to use AEM EMS in most cases for high horsepower cars as there are a few functions that I really like in their program.
Neptune so far has shown excellent driveability in the 2 customer cars I have seen that are tuned with it. Again these are daily driven 600whp cars.

Crome all the way. Forget paying $600+ for hondata when crome works just as well.
Just keep up with the newest release and plug-ins and you'll be fine.
The reason people have problems with crome isn't b/c of the software, its b/c of the user. CromePRO is super easy to use and to learn how to tune with. I've run some pretty high WHP daily driven cars on crome and they always run amazing.
CromePRO rocks!!!

crome pro
use it every day...i also tune hondata....both are great systems...crome is for much less $$$....why pay more $ for rom editing software....thats all hondata and crome are....they edit factory honda ecu code....so lets see...pay more for hondata to go in and change values at certain hex address' when crome does it for less???
hell i can make those changes with just a hex editor...takes longer...but hex editors are free

Re: (E1337ulga)
I know it wasnt in your poll, but my vote goes to AEM EMS. I am currently using crome now also, but with all the plugins and such you have to really keep track and up to date with the software. I have never had any issues with it, but got tired of loading plugins and such. I was in the same situation as you trying to decide what to go with next. I had previously used hondata on another car and was happy with it as well, but after shopping around I found that you can find a AEM EMS for about the same price as the S300. It was used but i ended up finding one for 700 shipped and that is for a true Standalone which should be the last EMS you ever need. Be patient and search you can find a deal out there no matter which unit you purchase.
