HELP ME! What color bearing do i need???
The machine shop ground my crank. The gsr crank when i bought it (didn't know it was turned already) I spun a bearing and the crank was saved. The one journal that was spun is .030 now and the rest of the rod journals are .020.
I want to go with OEM honda bearings.
Can someone tell me what color rod bearing i need for .020 and .030???

i dont think your not gonna be able to use honda bearings now. youll have to go with o.s acls. did they check how much you could turn .0030 seem like alot. also i thought when they have to turn one they turn the rest the same to keep every thing balanced.
anyway you should send it to castillo's or somewhere to have it rehardened. if not ill will spin another bearing. you should have posted first before yoy had it turned we could have saved you the trouble and had you trashed. i sold one a month ago for 120$ shipped to the guy and it was in perfect shape

You cannot use Honda bearings, they only come in standard with .0001 diffearances. You must go aftermarket.

[QUOTE=Syner-G-Racing LLC]first off, how did you come to these clearances. what did you use to measure etc. [/QUOTE
the crank was already 20 thou on the rod bearings plus one rod journal was spun so the machine shop did another 10 thou over on that journal. So basically the machine said to get those sizes
but i guess i have to buy 2 different sets of bearings

what Im saying basicaly is that your telling us the clearance you want...but in order to know what size bearings you need, you have to know the exact size of the specific journal, the exact size of the respective rod and cap (torqued to spec) then you subtract the crank journal size from the rod and cap size. this will give you the distance between the two. you then take this number and determine what you want your clearance at (.0020 is good) then subtract your target clearance from the previous number and divide it by 2 that will be you bearing size in one half...you'll need two.
(crank O.D - rod I.D)- target clearance) / 2 = bearing size.
now you can mix and match two colors to give you the proper size just dont jump more than one color. ie dont try putting a pink with a yellow. if you can give me measurements to the .0001" I can tell you the size bearings you need and the part numbers and where to get them the cheapest.
