Help with h22a please!!
We just put a h22a in my 98 ex, and i've got tax money burnin a hole in my pocket to tune up. I'm wondering if all this is reasonable prices, and being that i'm kinda new to the whole internal side of my motor, WHAT advantages and gains can you expect? Here's what i'm looking at ordering now:
Skunk2 Intake Manifold - $338.30 Skunk2 Cam Gears - $209.00 Skunk2 Stg. 2 Camshaft - $815.09 Skunk2 High Comp. Valve set (Exhaust and intake) - 321.45 Skunk2 Titanium Retainers - $144.50 Skunk2 Valve Springs - $245.08 JE/SRP Rod and Piston set - 485.03 NOW, does anyone know any better prices at a website? And once again, is all this gonna be really worth the bang for the buck? I wanted to boost it, but i figured for the same price i could just re-do the whole damn thing and spray the hell out of it. As far as now, it's pretty much stock, with CAI, and 65 wet-shot on it. SO what would i be gettin out of all this?? Thanks! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif |
Don't forget to calculate the price of machine work and assembly (if you don't plan on doing it yourself).

Unless you plan on resleeving your h22a, you will not be able to run forged pistons. Do a search and you'll see what I mean.
As for alot of the prices you posted they seem high to me, search through the sponsor forum for deals on some of those items, also ebay is a good place to look as are the classified boards here on h-t. |

That car will run 12's with slicks and a 75 shot. A 100 shot can be done safely too. Forget about all that stuff and get some NOS and some slicks. Youll rule the road. Dont waste your money.

Re: Help with h22a please!! (boostn420)
I'm runnin a 60 shot now, and it hits hard. I was just worried about everyone saying that h22's are kinda weak in their stock form to hold pretty good shots of nitrous? TRUE??
So, WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST INVESTMENT I COULD MAKE at this point to get descent gains, without getting a bunch of crap i Don't need. An Intake manifold maybe???????? |
