head install big oil leak head gasket on gsr please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hey guys here is the problem
me installing the head on my buddys 98 gsr
the head on the car was stolen so we bought one off of a wrecked integra
cleaned the block cleaned the head
used autozone mls 3 layer gasket
put the head on used oem head bolts that came with the head
tourqed it right and put new stock timing belt on, set the timing and hooked everything up
now tried to start the car and the car just started fine the first time
a second later in the back of the engine the oil started gushing out of somewhere
so we shut the engine immediatly and i thought it was leaking from the oil cooler or something like that
didnt want the accept the fact that it was the head gasket
but its was oil with antifreeze mixed up so we took the gsr mani off and decided to see up close what was the problem wiped everything checked all the hoses and clamps the put the mani back, wiped everything, put more oil in the motor and tried again
this time i was looking at the back of the engine to see where the leak coming from
the car started again and i see a thin line of oil just spraying out between the head and the block
the line is about 2-3inches wide and its under the manifold
somewhere between 3rd and 4th cylinder
so i dont know what to do i know i have to take everything out again and start from scratch
but here is some questions i have

is it possible that something is wrong with the head surface?
is there a wrong way to put the gasket?
could the gasket be bad since its not stock one?
also if the oil hole for ls/vtec was tapped would this happend?
any suggestions comments (but not dump ones) would be appriciated

help a brother out
thanks

yes, becuase the holes for the dowel pins are in the same spot. if you put it upside down they will be.

your supposed to do new head bolts with a headgasket, and make sure that you recheck the torque in between step one and two cuz sometimes if the block is warped a little the head bolts wont be as tight so you have to do it again

I can't recall what the "upside down gasket" thing is, so I can't really comment on that.....

But it sounds like your block or head's mating surface could be warped, also. If it is, you will need to have them decked. A machine shop can check for warpage by using a straight edge.

again i will bet that 9/10 the gasket is on upside down . take the head off again and look at the gasket. it happens alot believe it or not. and thats right where it leaks from . back corner between cyl 3 and 4. and it doesnt just drip out . it shoots out like a fire hose.

Re: (itr206)

It may fit on backwards but its so obvious that it doesnt line up with all the coolant holes and such. Inspect the oil orifice too.

Re: (Muckman)

thats the thing all the coolant holes do match up . there is one port that doesnt match up and thats where it leaks from . its an oil orfice i think that feeds oil to the head. if you flip the gasket upside down it blocks off that orfice/port and sprays oil out the back of the head/block like a MOFO. if its on right it just flows thru. been there and done that. and i know alot of reputable people on here whether they admit to it or not that have done it too . shit happens. its actually pretty easy to miss sometimes.
