Head gasket leak solution?
 

hey guys so i bought my civic about a year ago. And now i have a head gasket leak:( it has 110k miles and its a d16y8. I was wondering if there was any solution that you can buy from the store to fix the leak??? for example like the bars leaks head gasket repair solution??

Well that's the only way its gonna get fixed. There's no "band aid" for a head gasket

ok, well if that is the only way it can be done. Then i guess that is what i will do. Thanks for the help. I was just curious because i went into orielly auto parts the other day and saw this bars head gasket leak sealant. So i was just wondering if anyone had used it and if it worked. But if you guys say that the only way is to replace it, then ill do it! thanks again

Replacing the head gasket is the only lasting solution. However we occasionally get customers whos cars are worth less than the cost of repair. In such cases we suggest(but do not install) this:

Seems to work well. But the problem with this and other sealant is that there is no way to contain it to one part of the cooling system. It will eventually wreck havoc through out your cooling system and engine.

imagine....leaks in..copper flakes in the cylinders while running.....instant catalyst for destruction.... hot metal flying around in the cylinder equals detonation or pre- ignition and holes in piston or cylinder.... :scared:
