GSR Rods -- no oil holes?
looking at the stock rods in my engine, i noticed the manual shows the rod bearings and rods to have an oil hole in them. My stock gsr rods and rod bearings have no such hole. How does oil get in the bearings then?
thanks!

I know about those oil holes, i mean the rod bearings. look in the manual and other rods, and they show oil holes in the actual rods that extend to the bearings, the bearings sometimes have holes like the crank bearings. the gsr do not. so how does oil get to the bearing surfaces of the rod bearings?

The oil comes from the inside of the crank out to the rod bearing surface. It doesn't come from the rods like the d series. What I have a hard time with is how a full floating piston pin lubricates from the hole on top of the rod.

YEA, but there are no holes in the rod bearings themselves so how does oil get to the bearing surface without a hole in one of them like in the mains bearings??

The rod bearings oil from inside the rod journal to the surface of the rod bearing. That's the only spot that needs oil. This is unlike the d series oiling.

neither my rods nor the rod bearings have holes in them. the crank journals dont have holes in them either so that is why i am asking how the rod bearing surfaces get enough oil.

Have you run this crank yet? Are you sure it is a gsr? Post some pix
The rods and rod bearings are not supposed to have holes in them but the crank is
