On other posts I hear of a “blue timing belt” is a high quality timing belt for a B18C1 GSR but having done a little searching nothing come up for the GSR specially. Anyone have a GSR that has a blue timing belt they’ve had that’s of good quality/reliability? TIA

Gates timing belts are fine. I usually stick with Genuine Honda. You can find them online for about the same price as Gates.

the few times i've heard people talking about the blue one I actually heard bad things, I would just stick with the original Gates belt

The original 14400-P72-014 ( 126Ru26) was not a "Gates" belt as made popular by internet lore. It was originally a Bando belt from Japan, and then reshipped to the Ohio master parts facility.

At some point Gates was an original belt,then Bando,then Gates,then Mitsuboshi(Not necessarily in that order)

I think that, that is where the lore originated. It was an OE belt, off and on, through out the years. Though I couldn't tell you which engine family and which years, off hand.

I worked at CTC Japan ( A Japanese Auto Conglomerate ) in 1995 with Bando, Taito, Mitsuboshi, Toyoda, & Arta). Gates as an OE was Very brief, in 2001-2003 for the USDM. It stopped after that, When the new contracts were recreated in 2005.
